A little long while

Wow. I didn't realize how long it has been.

A lot has happened. The covid vaccine has been available for everyone in the state and our current vaccinated rate is around 70%. Sadly though, there's a new variant, the Delta variant. It's HIGHLY contagious. So we'll probably have to go back to KN95 masks in the office and our clients will probably have to go back to wearing masks. Yeah some of them won't like that but it is what it is. And of course the anti-vaxxers and/or the anti-maskers are still making a lot of noise. But what they don't understand is that they can't have it both ways. So hopefully this will be the push needed to either get more people to get the vaccine or to just keep their freaking masks on.

My dad had a hernia repair surgery at the end of June. On top of his back surgery in February and stroke in October, he's doing well. I got to see them Memorial Day weekend; it was a lovely visit. He said he had so much less pain since the surgery; although it was a difficult recovery he was glad he had it done. I'll probably go visit them at Christmas. And as for me, things will be changing too. After 11 years of chronic pain in my foot/ankle, I'll be having my own surgery soon...probably around the end of the month. It will be difficult; being off work for a few weeks and tough on my clients who are still facing the constant staffing changes in our office. It'll be hard to be off for that long; hoping lots of TV/movies and books and company will help make the down time go quicker. I'm ready to get it done; 11 years is a long time to wait.

So hopefully things will go well. I'll post updates sooner rather than later. Still can't believe it's been so long.
