Reaching up and reaching out (trying to)

A new month has started. Covid-19 precautions are still in effect. The "stay at home" order has been extended until the 18th of this month. The sister hospital of where I used to work furloughed nurses, though I don't remember how many. My sister texted me last week and said she would be one of 60 possibly furloughed at her job (she ended up not being). There is talk of "phases" in how the country is going to reopen, but nothing set in stone yet. The nursing home I used to work at had half of their staff quit earlier this week, while the other half are positive. I don't know if cases are continuing to go up, staying the same or starting to decrease. I can't find any data that suggests what they are doing. Some of my clients have started drinking/using again d/t the stress of it.

As for me, I'm facing an exciting change; moving. My roommate informed me that she is moving in with her boyfriend when our lease is up, in August. Truthfully, I did see this coming; they've been together almost a year now. I'm happy for them. As for me, I have the opportunity to regain my independence again. I've already begun the arduous process of looking for a new place to live and I've had some generally pretty positive feedback already (a potential new landlord is actually calling me sometime this morning to discuss logistics). If it's God's will, then it's God's will. If not, then I still have time.

Earlier last month I was asked to write a blog from my pastor. Having kept this one for almost 10 years, I happily obliged. The link is posted below for your reading. It's just one of the ways I've been trying to do my part in all of this, a good way to try and do my part. There's enough going on right now as it is, who doesn't need a little positivity and encouragement? I hope you enjoy it.
