What lies ahead for 2017

And here we are, about ready to say farewell to 2016. As it comes to a close, I can't help but think about what a crazy ride it has been! A few bad spots but overall very, very good! The post before this one got published and I have been asked to become a regular contributor for their website! I am definitely looking forward to sharing my wisdom, knowledge and experiences with the rest of the nursing community, and I am so grateful for the opportunity!

2017 will be my first full year of travel nursing! The whole country is at my disposal, and I am anxious but eager to see what new endeavors await me. I'm currently about a month away from finishing assignment #1 and I foresee some conversations with my recruiter about where to go next will be just around the corner. So far it seems Tennessee is sounding likely...maybe a bit close to my parents too. Who knows? But what has been so remarkable about getting into travel nursing in the first place is that it was at a point in my life when I least expected the opportunity to just fall into my lap. I was on leave, stuck in a boot and to be honest perhaps feeling a bit sorry for myself. But isn't it amazing how God works?

So here I am, sitting in this Starbucks sipping on a caramel apple spice, using the remains of my gift card my AWESOME recruiter got me, typing this on my iPad....which is proving to be a tad bit challenging. I'm always up for a bit of a challenge though, and that's what 2016 has been about. Rising to the challenges I have faced but have overcome them; thanks be to God, my awesome family and friends, and that small voice you get in your head that says "just go for it!" Thanks for the fun, 2016. Here we come 2017!
