Go I

"I think I'm quite ready for another adventure." -Bilbo Baggins, Return of the King

It is time for an adventure. I signed on with a travel nurse agency to begin the possibility of beginning a career in travel nursing. For now, my travels are within the state of Kentucky, but in due time, my travels could expand beyond the borders of Kentucky. I have already submitted my information to two potential assignments, each close to home but one would require me temporarily relocating. Luckily I have some friends that I hope would take me in, but we shall see. I'm extremely nervous to begin this endeavor but excited as to where I will be taken. I'm staying within my field of mental health, which according to my recruiter will be more difficult to locate assignments, which is why I've decided to stay PRN where I work, and perhaps locate another PRN job, or a part time job. Not sure yet how that's going to work, but I can't return to work where I am now until I'm out of my silly boot, but at least I have something lined up. The time it'll take to actually get started is about a month away, so plenty of time to get all this foot/ankle stuff sorted out, and hopefully not need surgery. Enough about that.

I was a little hesitant to go down this road, but it's a good opportunity for me to just be my own person. I'm very close to my twin sister, and I love her dearly more than anyone in this world. But she is moving forward with a very wonderful relationship, so I'm not only trying to think about her future but mine as well. I called my parents last night and told them; my mom seemed a little resistant at first but then began warming up to the idea of it. Seeing all these new places will be a great opportunity for me!

In the meantime, I covet prayers, good vibes and well wishes as I make this transition in my career. It's promising to be very challenging but also rewarding and exciting. I will definitely be pushed out of my comfort zone but am looking forward to what God is going to show me through this.
