ACK!!!!
I'm getting really bad about this....
In the meantime I will be trying to figure out a system that gets permanently etched into my skull that will remind me to WRITE THIS BLOG. But for now....you'll just get a post whenever I write it.
Thursday was a lot of driving. We were nestled into the hills of Manchester for a community health meeting titled "Healthy Clay." This was titled after the Washington Post got wind of Manchester and some of their unhealthy habits and wrote an article about them. Classy, right? Here it is. Unhealthy Manchester 6 pages. Have at it. Pretty shocking stuff though. Anyway, this meeting was composed of the mayor, some community members and a few healthcare professionals who meet once a month and try to come up with ways to make the county/city...healthier. As my friend pointed out on the way home, he said that sometimes community members pursue action better than the government does. I could not have said it better myself. The way there/way home was INSANE though. Mostly curvy and windy roads but my goodness some of the most beautiful scenery ever! Definitely reminded me of being in the Highlands again. Great, now I'm getting Europe envy again. When we got back to Berea I certainly had a bit of vertigo going on...speaking from the one who used to get car sick. Took me a while to settle back down but then I was back to my usual self. Who knows what tomfoolery we'll get into this upcoming week.
Saturday was....was. We left early, around 11:30. Not a whole lot anywhere was going on. Except all the moms I saw were younger than me. That was...eye opening. Just gave me a good chance to reflect on my own perspectives. And that's about it. There really was nothing much to talk about or report. A shorty this week. Tomorrow starts a new week. And maybe I'll stop being a slacker :]
